Through multidisciplinary co-creation with a remote, rural, coastal community, this project aims to place spirituality at the center of life, capturing insights, understanding and knowledge of spirituality (‘thin space’) and its benefits to individuals, heritage, community, culture and landscape.

Publications and Dissemination
Thin Space is committed to sharing research findings through a combination of academic, public-facing, and community-centred outputs. Dissemination is understood as an ongoing dialogue rather than the one-way communication of research outcomes.
Publications emerging from the project include visual essays, conference papers, invited lectures, journal articles, and practice-based research outputs exploring illustration, oral history, typography, radical listening, and participatory methodologies.
Alongside traditional academic dissemination, the project produces creative artefacts, including illustrated books, maps, exhibitions, and digital resources, that are returned to participants and communities as part of the research process.
