Through multidisciplinary co-creation with a remote, rural, coastal community, this project aims to place spirituality at the center of life, capturing insights, understanding and knowledge of spirituality (‘thin space’) and its benefits to individuals, heritage, community, culture and landscape.

ThinSpace
Thin Space is an interdisciplinary research project exploring the spaces between people, places, memories, and ways of knowing. Bringing together illustration, typography, oral history, and participatory research, the project investigates how creative practices can help individuals and communities express experiences that are often difficult to articulate.
Inspired by the Celtic notion of “thin places” — where the boundaries between worlds appear to blur — we use thin space as both a concept and a method. Through radical listening, collaborative drawing, storytelling, mapping, and visual translation, we explore questions of belonging, identity, spirituality, wellbeing, heritage, and landscape. At its heart, Thin Space seeks to understand how creative practice can reveal forms of knowledge that emerge through connection, reflection, and shared experience.
